Before we plan a litter of puppies – we do have a lot of considerations.
We mate our bitch to a dog with the true cocker temperament – We never compromise on that. If he furthermore is beautiful – we do of cause not mind.
All our dogs have at least a certificate quality prize at an Open Show. This is a guarantee that the dog is very close to the perfect looks.
Our dogs are always examined to get a clear eye certificate before we mate – we have done so even before it was a demand from The Danish Spaniel Club. We have not yet had any cases of hereditary eye diseases in our breeding career.
Our dogs have had X-ray examination – to make sure the hips are healthy. All our dogs have a clear hip certificate – no cases of bad hips as well.
Our puppies are all registered with an original pedigree in the Danish Kennel Club. They have a chip in their neck and are at the same time admitted to the Danish Dog register. According to the law this fee is general and is by us paid for the entire lifetime of the puppy.
All our puppies are examined by the wet several times during their first 8 weeks.
We do help trimming the puppy. Until the puppy is 1 year of age the puppy owners are free to visit every now and then to get a trim of the puppies coat. This is further more an excellent opportunity to talk about problems and joys – great and small.
We rarely have more than one litter a year. It gives us the opportunity to give each puppy all the attention and contact as well as care, as it needs.
We have a special wish to know each puppy and its personality. It makes it possible to find a family to match each puppy. That is important to us.
We try to keep in touch with our puppies as long as possible – as long as the new owner wants us in their lives.
All our dogs are a part of our family - Especially the little ones. They have a great need of the correct imprinting.
The puppies are born in our kitchen – and they are surrounded with people every day from dawn till night. This continues until they leave our home. We find it necessary – the only true way to learn is learning by doing.
While the puppies are small we invites our family and friend together with their children. This way the children learns to handle the dogs – and the dogs learn that people comes in different sizes.
We use the methods that are used by The Danish Kennel Club in training puppies. It is possible because the Mistress of the house is a qualified puppy trainer.
